Benefits of Buffered Vitamin C
• Supports a wide variety of biochemical reactions throughout the body, including synthesis of collagen, detoxification, and immune system functions*
• Helps to protect several other nutrients*
• Provides significant levels of macrominerals calcium and magnesium

Each 1 Teaspoon (heaping) (4.7 g) contains:
Vitamin C (as Ascorbic Acid)
....derrived from cassava root (the potato family) 2135 mg
Calcium (as Calcium Carbonate) 405 mg
Magnesium (as Magnesium Carbonate) 215 mg
Potassium (as Potassium Carbonate) 90 mg
Other ingredients: Cellulose.

Suggested Use
: As a dietary supplement, 1 heaping teaspoon or more in 8 to 12 ounces of liquid, between meals, or as directed by a healthcare practitioner. As with all vitamin C formulations, as one begins to achieve body saturation, “bowel tolerance” may be temporarily exceeded and diarrhea or loose stools may occur. As the high levels of vitamin C in the tissues become used up, the bowel symptoms should ease. Ideal for controlling acidity often associated with hypersensitivity reactions.

Each 2 capsules contain:
Vitamin C (as Ascorbic Acid)
.......derrived from cassava root (the potato family) 1000 mg
Calcium (as Calcium Carbonate) 190 mg
Magnesium (as Magnesium Carbonate) 104 mg
Potassium (as Potassium Carbonate) 16 mg
Other ingredients: Cellulose, stearic acid.

Suggested Use:
As a dietary supplement, 2 to 4 capsules, two or three times daily between meals, or as directed by a healthcare practitioner.

This is a great supplement for those who need a non-corn derived vitamin C.

Vitamin C is the most important water-solubleantioxidant nutrient and is involved in a widevariety of biochemical reactions throughoutthe body. Allergy Research Group® haspioneered the development of bufferedvitamin C products, and continues to offer thepurest and least allergenic vitamin C productsavailable. In addition to its hefty content ofascorbic acid, our buffered vitamin C alsosupplies potassium and the macromineralscalcium and magnesium at approximately onehalf the RDI per heaping teaspoon, which maymake it desirable for individuals who do notregularly consume dairy products.

The latest addition to our Buffered Vitamin Cline is a unique cassava root (of the potatofamily) source Buffered Vitamin C (not corn derived), availablein both powder and capsules. Cassava, orManihot esculenta, is a bushy South Americanshrub with long tuberous roots, which aretraditionally eaten like potatoes. Cassava rootstarch is the starting material for a multi-stepchemical process of manufacturing ascorbicacid. It is well tolerated by individuals unableto tolerate other sources of vitamin C.

Both the corn and cassava root sources areformulated with carbonates of potassium, calcium and magnesium, giving an acid-alkaline buffering action (pH 7.0 in water),potentially improving bowel tolerance andminimizing hyperacidity.*
The human body cannot manufacture vitaminC, as do most other mammals, so we must relyon food or nutritional supplements. Vitamin Cis stored in tissues throughout the body, and isespecially concentrated in the adrenal glands, where it is crucial for the production ofadrenal hormones involved in responding tostress.* The body uses vitamin C in immunesystem functions including white blood cellproduction, histamine release and degradation, the reduction of glutathione, and themetabolism and protection of several othernutrients.* Vitamin C is involved indetoxifying heavy metals such as lead, cadmium, mercury and nickel.* It is involvedin the production of collagen and elastin, important connective tissue proteins.*VitaminC may also support HDL cholesterol withinnormal levels, and bone mineral density.

Allergy Research Group® Buffered Vitamin Chas been used clinically for offsetting acutehypersensitivity reactions and the addictivecraving for foods, cigarettes and otherwithdrawalstates from stimulants andalcohol.* A study at the Haight-Ashbury FreeClinic in San Francisco demonstrated thatBuffered Vitamin C could offset and reducewithdrawal symptoms for stimulants andopiates by 90% in outpatients, who took ateaspoon of Buffered Vitamin C wheneverthey felt a craving.*

Calcium is important for skeletal health, with99% of calcium occurring in the bones andteeth, and the rest found in cells and bodyfluids. Calcium is involved in many functionsin the human body, including initiation ofmuscle contractions, the blood clottingprocess, and the regulation of nutrient andwaste product transport through cellmembranes.* It also is involved with enzymesthat control fat digestion and metabolism, blood pressure, cholesterol, hormones, andnerve impulse transmission.*

Magnesium is involved in more than 300enzyme reactions in the human body. It isutilized in the metabolism of carbohydrates, proteins and fats, and in transmission of nerveimpulses, temperature regulation, detoxifi-cation, and energy production.* It is a keyelement for cardiovascular health, as it helpsrelax blood vessels, and supports bloodpressure within normal levels. Magnesium isalso important for the health of bones andteeth, particularly the enamel.*

Potassium is an electrolyte, involved in theregulation of the flow of bodily fluids into andout of cells (intracellular osmosis).* Potassiumis involved with the regulation of pH balance, blood pressure, and the conversion of bloodsugar into glycogen.*
