As the American population continues to age, the use of non-steroidal anti-inflammatory drugs or NSAID's, continues to increase as well. Because of the side effects associated with NSAID's, such as increased chance of heart attack or stroke, ulcers and bleeding in the stomach and intestines, anemia, and liver damage to name a few, it is more important than ever to find effective solutions that are less invasive and potentially toxic.

CelerEase? is a proprietary extract of celery seed that supports the reduction of joint inflammation and its related discomfort - providing support for joint mobility without the serious potential side effects associated with non-steroidal anti-inflammatory drugs (NSAID's).1,2

Celery seed naturally contains compounds which include, 1.5 ? 3% volatile oils (including the terpenes limonene and b-selinene and pthalides) and flavonoids (apigenin and apiin). These compounds exhibit a wide array of properties including anti-inflammatory, antinociceptive (reducing sensitivity to painful stimuli), and diuretic.3

How Does It Work?
CelerEase? has been shown to inhibit cyclooxygenase 1 and 2 (COX 1 and 2) activity, as well as prostagladin 2 (PGE2) production. This is believed to occur as some of the compounds in celery seed are structural analogs of arachidonic acid. As prostaglandins and other eicosanoids, are biochemically synthesized from this fatty acid, these celery seed compounds can serve as competitive substrates for COX and LOX enzyme systems, inhibiting the formation of PGE2 and other inflammatory eicosanoids.4
