NewMarks Cruciferous Complex is designed to provide unique specialized benefits for modern health concerns. For example, NewMark's founder Paul Schulick learned that broccoli and other cruciferous sprouts are phytonutrient powerhouses, and are excellent sources of a phyto-nutrient group called glucosinolates. Over 80 scientific studies have confirmed that these phytonutrients stimulate resistance and detoxification in our liver and elsewhere, and the early sprouted form of the plants is a particularly rich source of these beneficial compounds*. The problem is that people dont normally consume the sprouts of broccoli, daikon radish, and the other crucifers, and they are frankly not that flavorful. The challenge was how to bring these phytonutrient packages to people in an easy, palatable form. Paul figured out how to sprout, dry, and deliver cruciferous sprouts that in turn delivered the full spectrum of glucosinolate compounds. He saw the health benefit, understood that people could not normally obtain these health-promoting compounds, and creatively designed a specialty formula that met the health need.

High dietary intake of cruciferous vegetables, specifically those of the genus Brassica,(i.e., broccoli, Brussel sprouts, and kale) has been shown to preserve DNA integrity and promote normal cell growth, even during exposure to xenobiotics.* The young sprouts of these vegetables provide an exceptionally rich source of glucosinolates, a group of phytochemcials that upon ingestion are enzymatically degraded into a variety of bioactive compounds, including sulphorophane and indole-3-carbinol. These compounds have been shown to induce phase-2 liver detoxification enzymes, providing a powerful strategy for protection against oxidative free radical damage and abnormal cell growth.* Furthermore, cruciferous compounds have been shown to alleviate the negative effects of estrogen by promoting a healthy ratio of 2-OH/16-OH-estrogen.*

Cruciferous Complex provides a rich source of bioactive phytochemicals from six different cruciferous sprouts. The sprouts are freeze-dried when levels of sulforaphanes and glucosinolates are at their highest. Six Vcaps of Cruciferous Complex provides the equivalent of approximately one ounce of fresh cruciferous sprouts.
