Helps Learning Skills
It is estimated that as many as 3% to 5% of school age children have difficulty focusing and learning. Scientific studies have shown that certain individuals with learning difficulties may be deficient in certain fatty acids. These fatty acids are Docosahexaenoic Acid (DHA) and Arachidonic Acid (AA). They are the predominant structural fatty acids in the brain and retina of the eyes.

Eye and Brain Health
A number of long chain fatty acids are extremely important for vision, brain function and coordination. These are docosahexaenoic acid (DHA), arachidonic acid (AA) and gamma-linolenic acid (GLA). AA is required for normal transmission of messages along nerves and for the laying down of memory. DHA is a building block of all nerve cell and eye membranes. [1-3]

The key step to the body's use of dietary fatty acids is the metabolism of LA to convert it to GLA. There are times when the body's ability to do this is reduced. This results in a deficiency of long chain polyunsaturated fatty acids (LCPs). The LCPs form part of the membranes around and within every cell in the body and play an extremely important role in eye and brain activity. [1-3]

DHA and AA are both needed for normal nerve cell and eye membranes, as well as the normal transmission of messages along and between nerve cells. About 20% of the brain and 30% of the eyes are made up of fatty acids, with the most abundant being docosahexaenoic acid (DHA) and arachidonic acid (AA). [1-3]
