INTERACTIONS/CONTRAINDICATIONS
Folinic acid and 5-methyl-tetrahydrofolate supplementation is not recommended concurrently with methotrexate cancer therapy, as they can interfere with methotrexate's anti-neoplastic activity; however, these folate sources have not been shown to interfere with the anti-inflammatory activity of methotrexate. An individual taking methotrexate for psoriasis or rheumatoid arthritis can safely take a supplement containing folate.

Q-Best-50 (formerly known as Q-Cell)

Q-Best® is a proprietary, crystal-free preparation of coenzyme Q10 (aka ubiquinone) that consistently has demonstrated superior absorption over other forms of CoQ10, including dry powder, oil-based softgels, lipsosomes, micelles, and nanoparticle preparations. All supplemental CoQ10 originates in a crystal (dry powder) form. However, this crystal form alone is not well absorbed because the crystals do not fully dissolve in the intestines and the body cannot absorb lipid crystals. When crystals are dissolved in a lipid-based delivery system (ie, oil-based softgels, liposomes, micelles, and nanoparticles), absorption is improved. However, there is still partial crystallization found in these preparations. Q-Best provides CoQ10 in a fully dissolved, crystal-free, lipid-based form, allowing greater absorption by the intestinal mucosa. This is accomplished by a proprietary, tri-lipid delivery system. One lipid keeps the CoQ10 crystals fully dissolved at 10°C above body temperature; the second lipid keeps the CoQ10 crystals fully dissolved below body temperature; and the third lipid acts as a carrier molecule to facilitate absorption. B-Complex#12

Vitamin B12 and folate are necessary for normal red blood cell formation, tissue and cellular repair, homocysteine metabolism, and DNA synthesis. A vitamin B12 and/or folate deficiency may indicate a chronic shortage of one or both of these vitamins. Vitamin B12 deficiency can manifest in varying degrees of mental changes such as confusion and irritability. Certain prescription medications (for seizures, diabetes, arthritis, or cancer) can result in deficiencies of these important vitamins. Incidence of vitamin B12 and/or folate deficiency is high among the elderly. Pregnant women require increased amounts of folate for proper fetal development. Women with a folate deficiency prior to pregnancy can expect the deficiency to be intensified during gestation.

Thorne's B-Complex #12 supplies 300 mcg of adenosylcobalamin, 300 mcg of methylcobalamin, as well as 200 mcg of folinic acid, 200 mcg 5-MTHF (both active forms of folate), and the bioactive forms of the other B vitamins in each capsule to ensure you get the most bioavailable B-complex available.
