Pantethine is a unique form of the B vitamin, pantothenic acid, needed to make coenzyme A which transports fatty acids to cells. Carnitine also transports fatty acids into the mitochondria, the powerhouse of the cell, so they can be burned to make energy. In the case of oxygen shortage, fatty acids may not get burned which can result in angina as they accumulate in the heart muscle.
