In order to assimilate vitamins and nutrients from our food and supplements, we must be able to digest them properly. Plant Enzyme Digestive Formula is a combination of the most important enzymes for digestion of proteins, fats, and carbohydrates. Applications include gas and bloating after meals, constipation, and a feeling of fullness after eating only a small quantity of food. Studies show that the foods in the typical American diet are devoid of natural enzymes and do little to help secrete our own production of enzymes. Thus, foods do not get digested well and nutrients from food are poorly absorbed. Poor digestive health can lead to many other disorders including asthma, osteoporosis, food allergies, depression and arthritis1. Many health experts agree that regular consumption of enzymes and enzyme rich foods is a key to vibrant health, disease prevention, and anti-aging. Every cell in your body needs enzymes for its biochemical functions, thus a deficiency will accelerate the aging process! Plant Enzyme Digestive Formula does not contain any animal products.

Does this formula help with heartburn?
Taking 2 capsules before a meal can prevent heartburn and indigestion. Digestzymes can also be effective when taken after an upsetting meal. An increased dose of 3-4 capsules may be helpful if taken after a meal.
America’s Diet is Devoid of Enzymes!
Food enzyme supplementation is necessary in today’s society of over-cooked and processed foods. Food enzymes are destroyed at 118o Fahrenheit, therefore, most of today’s cooking methods leaves food without digestive enzyme activity. As a result, the body becomes overstressed and is unable to absorb food’s vital nutrients. [2] Foods richest in natural enzymes are raw vegetables, greens, salads, and fruits which the US consumes very little of!
Impaired Digestive Enzymes Production from the Pancreas
The pancreas’ two primary roles are the production of enzymes and insulin. When food passes through the stomach, a healthy pancreas manufactures and secretes specific enzymes that digest fats, carbohydrates, and protein. When the pancreas is overworked from over-consumption of sugar and refined foods devoid of natural enzymes, its ability to produce optimal amounts of enzymes is hindered, resulting in gas, bloating, and incomplete digestion of food.
There are 3 different categories of enzymes: lipase, amylase, and protease.
Protease aids in digestion by breaking long protein chains into smaller amino acids and eventually into single amino acids. [2]
Amylase aids in digestion by reducing large carbohydrates, such as starches and polysaccharides, and converting them into disaccharides including sucrose, lactose, and maltose. [2]
Lipase digests fats into free fatty acids and glycerol. [2]
