This uniquely formulated potassium product is composed of potassium bicarbonate, because of the substantial research on its alkalinizing capacities and blood pressure support, combined with potassium bound to the amino acid glycine. Potassium deficiency symptoms include fatigue, lethargy, cramping or twitching, heavy legs, and the feeling of depression.
Potassium Chelates are useful in the nutritional support of hypertension, leg cramps and heart health, and is recommended for people who are on ketogenic and low carbohydrate diets, which can often cause significant potassium loss and low energy. Long distance runners or rigorous exercisers would also benefit since they quickly deplete their potassium levels.
Drug Contraindications: ACE inhibitors, Amiloride (all potassium-sparing diuretics), Cortrimoxazole.
What are some food sources of potassium? Yogurt, leafy greens, vegetable juice, baked potatoes, almonds, sunflower seeds, halibut, cod, turkey, and chicken are all sources of potassium.
High Blood Pressure A diet that is low in potassium and high in sodium is associated with high blood pressure. [2] Many studies have shown that increasing dietary potassium intake can lower blood pressure. [3]
Heart Disease When potassium is low, there is a greater risk of arrhythmias, heart failure, and stroke. Potassium readings can be used to predict an individual?s risk for heart rhythm problems with great accuracy. [4]
Muscle Weakness and Fatigue The most common indicators of a need for more potassium are fatigue and weakness. Leg cramps may also be from low potassium levels. An inadequate amount of potassium and magnesium may contribute to the onset of chronic fatigue syndrome. Restoring the body?s supply of potassium can promote a higher energy level, restore muscle tone, and boost endurance. [5]

I have taken this supplement to help alleviate calf muscle cramping. It was recommended by my OB/GYN, who specializes in Anti-Aging medicine, and who has a holistic approach.
