Coleus forskohli and these medication contraindications:

ANTICOAGULANT/ANTIPLATELET DRUGS:

Theoretically, concomitant use of forskolin and anticoagulant or antiplatelet agents might increase the risk of bruising and bleeding. There is some evidence forskolin can inhibit platelet aggregation and adhesion. Some anticoagulant and antiplatelet drugs include abciximab (ReoPro), anagrelide (Agrylin), antithrombin III (Thrombate III), ardeparin (Normiflo), cilostazol (Pletal), clopidogrel (Plavix), dalteparin (Fragmin), danaparoid (Orgaran), dicumarol, dipyridamole (Persantine), enoxaparin (Lovenox), eptifibatide (Integrilin), heparin, lepirudin (Refludan), tirofiban (Aggrastat), and warfarin (Coumadin).

CALCIUM CHANNEL BLOCKERS:
Using forskolin with calcium channel blockers such as verapamil (Calan, Covera-HS, Verelan), nifedipine (Procardia), and diltiazem (Cardizem, Dilacor, Tiazac) might cause additive coronary vasodilatory effects.

NITRATES:
Using forskolin with nitrates such as nitroglycerin (Nitro-Bid, Nitro-Dur, Nitrostat) and isosorbide (Imdur, Isordil, Sorbitrate) might cause additive coronary vasodilatory effects.

SURGERY:
Forskolin has antiplatelet effects. Forskolin might cause excessive bleeding if used perioperatively. Discontinue forskolin at least 2 weeks before elective surgical procedures.

Lost 12 pounds last year with increased exercise, reduced calories, and these packets. Results better than seen since age 40 - better fat loss, improved muscle tone. Long story - am now working to get weight back off. Began weight-loss routine with no packets; only moderate change. Started packets; already notice increased energy and hunger. Energy is great and view hunger as positive sign metabolism has picked up. Definitely like these packets and trust DFH more than anything over the counter.

Didn't seem to make any difference Nutritionist Response: While these supplements may support a healthy way to optimize your metabolism and endocrine balance, they do not replace additional efforts need to promote weight loss, such as eating a healthy diet with slight caloric restriction and daily physical activity to support metabolism. Also, when taking these longer than one month, you should see better results than taking them for only one month. Julie Haugen, MS, RD, LN
