Do you have any specific recommendations to ease Fibromyalgia?
Q. I'm trying to find a cure for my fibromyaliga. Doctors do not know what causes this or how to treat it. I have heard Candida is a primary culprit and I know I have had that in the past. My muscles and joints are now so stiff there is constant pain. Do you have any specific recommendations?

A. There are also some very important dietary recommendations to help you in reversing Fibromyalgia. Here are some additional products you can read about and some guidelines at the very bottom.

One theory correlates Fibromyalgia with Candida and leaky gut syndrome—which typically occur together. Candida and other bacterial imbalances cause inflammation in the gut, which then causes tiny holes called "leaky gut". Gluten can also cause and/or exacerbate a leaky gut. Then, small food particles and toxins pass through the intestines, accumulate in the joints and cause inflammation/autoimmune response.

To heal, you must begin with healing the gut and replenishing your healthy bacteria. HLC Intensive is the first probiotic you should take for at least 10-20 days. At some point, you should be able to effectively switch to stage II probiotics, either HLC High Potency or HLC Mindlinx. Mindlinx is better if you have a history of food sensitivities, and is worth trying anyway due to some promising results with autoimmune patients. Oil of oregano—which you recently purchased—is great to help kill yeast, and should be taken separately from your probiotic dose—i.e. oil of oregano with breakfast and dinner, probiotics after lunch and bedtime snack.

Also, you should take L-glutamine and Omega-3 fatty acids. L-glutamine is an amino acid which repairs the gut lining and supports the immune system. Omega-3s will help reverse inflammation in your gut and joints, allowing healing in the gut cells.

Glutamine Powder, by DFH: take 1/2 tsp 3 times a day in between meals mixed in a couple ounces water.

Finest Pure Fish Oils, by Pharmax: take 1-2 Tbs. daily

Other exciting helpful adjuncts which target other areas beside the gut are: Vitalzym—this is a proteolytic enzyme which works in the blood to break down inflammatory proteins, and thereby limit the inflammation in the joints. Dosing high enough is important. Please read more on the web page about activation dosing.

Magnesium Glycinate: This is a highly absorb able form of magnesium, needed for muscular health and energy production/ carbohydrate metabolism. A good dose is 2 caps 3 times a day. You can take 3-4 caps before bed to aid in a more restful night's sleep.

Diet wise, make sure to cut down as much as possible on sugar including from juice, bananas, pasta, white rice, etc. since sugar feeds yeast and causes inflammation. Also eliminate gluten (in wheat, oats, rye, etc) since it is an inflammatory protein. Eat more healthy fats, organic proteins, especially eggs, vegetables, nuts, some brown and wild rice and squash, relaxing teas, etc. Help your immune system help you.
