Q. Please help! I have herpes and genital warts with bad symptoms for 3 years. I've tried Aldara cream and oils and have had no luck and cannot seem to find any help anywhere.
A. Any measures that improve general health and the immune system in particular will help prevent warts and limit growth of viruses or viral outbreaks. With the correct nutrition and supplement program, it is possible to have very few to no herpes outbreaks. Eliminate sugar, refined carbohydrates, and processed foods from the diet. Eating foods laced with chemicals or void of nutrient (i.e. empty calories from junk food and fast food) set your body up for a higher risk of viral activity. Focus on fresh food, organic whenever possible (fish, chicken, turkey, salads, veggies, colorful natural foods).
Chronic viral infections may be aggravated by food allergies. The allergic foods are commonly your favorite or most craved food and usually eaten in large amounts. Eliminating common hidden food allergens such as wheat (gluten), dairy, soy, corn, etc. from the diet usually helps prevent recurrent viral infections and can make a big difference to the overall health of the immune system. Try an elimination diet to narrow down which foods may be aggravating your symptoms. We can customize this program for you.
