Q: Can I use the Boric Acid suppositories and HLC Candaclear suppositories during my period? That is when my BV symptoms seem to be worse than usual.
A. Boric acid and Candaclear suppositories are perfectly fine to be used during your period—but ideally on the last 2 days since flow is lighter. The instructions on the Boric Acid say to use it specifically during the last days of menstrual cycle, especially during maintenance stage.
For maintenance, we recommend that you continue to use Boric Acid 2 days per month on those last 2 days of your period or whenever symptoms tend to re-occur most or get worse. Since you have been suffering from BV for so long, we know that you will always be more vulnerable to recurrance and it's best to take extra precaution and use prevention.
In addition, don't forget to continue taking a maintenence dose of the oral probiotics HLC High Potency.
