What Causes Candida Overgrowth? What else contributes to candidiasis?
Q: What Causes Candida Overgrowth? What else contributes to candidiasis?

A.
Use of antibiotics can result in Candida overgrowth because, along with the bacteria they are supposed to be killing, antibiotics also kill off the 'friendly' micro-organisms (probiotic flora) in the gut.

As these micro-organisms are responsible for controlling Candida levels, reduced numbers of probiotic flora will result in an overgrowth of Candida.
