Please suggest a shake for a lactose intolerant 91yo who needs to gain weight?
Q. I recently discovered the whey meal replacement shake I have contains sucralose and fructose, neither of which I want. Am sharing w/my lactose-intolerant, very osteoporotic 91yo mom who desperately needs to gain fat and muscle weight (92lbs) after severe candida infection. She loves chocolate but Ensure contains too much sugar. Would any of your products be appropriate? Any suggestions?

A. An ideal & healthy replacement to Ensure would be Paleomeal Chocolate. It is made with healthy, non-denatured whey protein (no hormones), and contains no fructose or artificial sugar. Since your mom is lactose intolerant, she can take a lactase enzyme right before she has her Paleomeal smoothie. Some lactose intolerant people (like my husband) can actually consume Paleomeal with no problem. You'll have to check and see.

You can read more about this great whey protein here.
