Q. I would like to know the purpose of the rubber cork that seals the bottle under the bottle cap for the Super EFA Liquid and other Genestra Fish Oil products.
A. The purpose of the air tight rubber cork is to prevent spillage during transportation and minimize oxygenation and increase preservation of the fish oils. The manufacturer vacuumed out the air from the bottle before it was capped so that no oxygen remained to cause oxidation or rancidity, and thus shelf life is extended. We recommend you keep your fish oils refrigerated when possible, but you may discard the rubber cork unless you'd like to use it as an extra seal during any travels with your oils.
