Does Super EFA have too much Vitamin A & how long can it stay refrigerated?
Q. Will Super EFA provide us with too much Vitamin A? Is the oil made from the bodies of fish or fish livers? How long can I keep it refrigerated?

A. The Super EFA Liquid by Genestra does not contain any vitamin A. Only Cod Liver Oil contains vitamin A & D. This fish oil is not made from fish liver, but rather from the fish itself.
  • Eicosapentenoic Acid (EPA).......1050 mg
  • Docosahexaenoic Acid (DHA).......750 mg
  • Concentrated Pure Fish Oil.......2250 mg
  • From Wild Salmon and Wild Anchovies
  • Vitamin E (Mixed Tocopherols).......25 mg
  • Essential Oil of Orange
In addition, even if you were to take a Cod Liver Oil product, they usually contain between 500 to 2,500 IU of Vitamin A per teaspoon depending on the product, yet 5,000 IU is the daily safe recommended intake for pregnant women so even Cod Liver Oil would have to be taken in the dose of 2-8 teaspoons per day to get the maximum Vit A dose.

If you are not planning pregnancy, you could safely take up to 100,000 IU of micelized vitamin A (A-Mulsion Liquid by Genestra) for healing of acute respiratory infection or other mucous/skin infections for 3-7 days since it is incredibly beneficial. Vitamin A is not toxic except when taken in huge amounts for long periods of time, and when taken by pregnant women.

I always recommend you take fat soluble antioxidants in conjunction with fish oils since antioxidants help to stabilize them and Omega 3 oils such as fish oils can cause oxidative stress on the body. Take at least 400 IU of Vitamin E such as this product:

Vitamin E Emulsified by Genestra: Take 1 or more per day with a meal.

Also, you should be taking a good multi-vitamin daily which contains a variety of antioxidants and minerals.
