In addition to Omega oils w/flax & evening primrose, what will aid weight loss?
Q. I want to lose weight. I have been taking a spoonful of Omega oils (flax and evening primrose) and I feel great. I also drink 32 oz. of water every morning. What else can I do? Should I cut carbs?

A. The bars are great before working out, and the Omega 3 oils are very important your metabolism and overall health.

I suggest you add in Carnitine Synergy by DFH and the Twice Daily Essentials Packets by DFH which contain a high quality multi, calcium, magnesium, and fish oils. This product is very easy to take each day, and it will ensure you are getting all your basic nutrients. In order to have successful weight loss, you need to give your body all the nutrients and co-factors it needs to burn fat and fuel energy. Providing your body with the basics is very important.

You are getting a good amount of exercise each week which is excellent, but I would highly recommend you do weights 3 times a week in addition to cardio 2-3x per week. You could do a workout consisting of both (i.e. 40 min weights, 30 min cardio). Working out on weights really makes a difference in your resting metabolism, and has a synergistic effect for fat burning when combined with cardio.

As for your diet, I recommend you follow a healthy low-carb program such as Living the Low Carb Life by Jonny Bowden, or Protein Power by Dr.Eades.

Which is best for fat & weight loss. Carnitine Synergy, Crave Arrest, or both?
Q. I was just looking at the Carnitine Synergy and was wondering should I try that in place of the Crave Arrest for fat and weight loss or stick with the Crave Arrest?

A. Crave Arrest and Carnitine Synergy have two different purposes. If you feel your weight loss efforts have been helped by reducing your cravings, then Crave Arrest is working well for you. If you don't feel you have food cravings, then perhaps you should in fact switch to Carnitine Synergy, which will optimize your body's fat burning potential. Carnitine does make a difference in your ability to burn fat as energy and many of my clients have found it helpful especially for improving energy during low carb diets. Without adequate Carnitine levels, fat cannot be burned.

Is it OK to combine Crave Arrest & Carnitine Synergy if taking Adrenotone?
Q. Would it be safe to take Crave Arrest and Carnitine Synergy at the same time; I also take Adrenotone?

A. Taking Crave Arrest and Carnitine Synergy together is perfectly safe. They work on different pathways... seratonin vs. mitochondria. There is also no contra-indication for taking Adrenotone along with Carnitine and Crave Arrest. They are all part of a healthy weight loss program. Supporting the adrenal glands is important too since weight loss puts a lot of stress on the body, not to mention that everyday stress further causes the adrenal glands to fatigue.

Q. What is the best nutrition supplement to help me lose weight which I can take without worrying about the medications I take for depression such as Abiify?

Remember, these products are all helpful for assisting the body in fat reduction and weight loss, however, the main key component is exercise. Do you do any physical activity at this time?

If not, try to start adding at least a brisk walk for 20-30 minutes everyday to help improve circulation. Next, work up to "burst training" for 15 minutes per day. Experts recommend 30 seconds of intense exercise followed by 1 minute of recovery. Do this 8-16 times depending on your level. You can read about burst training online. Here are some videos.

Diet is also key as well, focus on lowering refined carbs and increasing fruit and veggies and lean proteins like beans, wild fish, organic chicken, turkey and grass-fed lean beef, buffalo or lamb. Healthy fats such as fish oils, avocado, olive oil almonds, walnuts, hazelnuts (in small quantity) are also helpful for maintaining better weight loss over time.
