Cal Mag Liquid (formerly called "spearmint") supplies calcium and magnesium in a pleasant tasting peppermint flavor free of aluminum and sodium, and designed for optimal digestion and absorption. Calcium and magnesium are critical for the maintenance and repair of bone structure, teeth, sore muscles, and the heart. Without magnesium and Vitamin D, the body cannot absorb and utilize calcium, thus calcium should always be taken along with magnesium and Vitamin D.

    What does Cal Mag do?
Calcium and magnesium are critical for the maintenance of bones, heart, muscles, and teeth, as well as prevention of high blood pressure, low birth weight babies, spontaneous labor, heart attack, stroke, colon and pancreatic cancers, osteoporosis, and nervous system disorders.

Why do I need magnesium with my calcium?
It is critical to take magnesium alongside with any calcium supplement since these two minerals work together as well as antagonistically. This means high dosing of calcium without magnesium can lead to a magnesium imbalance causing such symptoms as a slow metabolism, depression, and a magnesium deficiency. Magnesium is only found in nuts, seeds, leafy greens, and seafood.

I eat dairy products like milk and cheese, do I really need Cal Mag?
YES. Those who consume large amounts of dairy products regularly especially need Cal Mag supplementation. This is due to the fact that acidic foods, such as milk, cheese, and meats cause the body to leech out calcium and magnesium from bones in order to neutralized and excrete the ingested acidic food. Thus, while dairy products do contain these important minerals, they also cause the body to leech them out of the bones. People who consume a large amount of acidic foods and not enough vegetables or alkaline foods, are at greater risk for osteoporosis unless they take extra Cal Mag supplements or alkaline minerals and green foods.

What else increases my needs for Cal Mag?
Exercise and stress greatly increases the need for calcium and magnesium since they are depleted quickly from the body during these times and deficiencies can cause muscle cramps, spasms, twitching, kidney stones, stroke, heart attack, and other symptoms.

    Why take the liquid form?
The liquid form is ideal for optimal digestion and utilization. These minerals are known for their poor absorption in those with less than perfect digestion. It is also ideal for immediate relief of indigestion, heartburn, muscle cramps, and spasms.

    High Cholesterol
Calcium and magnesium supplementation contribute to heart health by helping to lower cholesterol and triglycerides. Studies indicates, a higher amount of calcium and magnesium in the blood corresponds to a higher amount of HDL cholesterol.6

    Pregnancy Complications
It is shown that women have fewer pregnancy complications when they take 1,200mg of calcium daily.6

    Cancer
Calcium supplementation may guard against cancers of the colon, pancreas, and endometrium.7 A study of 1,900 men found that 1,200 mg per day lowered the incidence of colon cancer by 75 percent.8

    Insomnia
Magnesium and calcium are prescribed for its sleep-inducing effects. Taken at bedtime, it will promote a better night?s sleep.6

    Autism
Studies have shown that the average magnesium levels in autistic children are below average. Evidence suggests that autistic children may improve when given large doses of magnesium along with vitamin B6.2

    Cardiovascular Disease
When magnesium is supplemented regularly, irregular heart rhythms become more stable, high blood pressure improves, the body keeps a better balance of potassium and other important cardiovascular minerals, the heart pumps a larger volume of blood with no extra demand for oxygen, constricted blood vessels relax, allowing blood to flow more freely, and HDL cholesterol rises and LDL cholesterol falls.5

    Acute Heart Attacks
Magnesium, when given intravenously, can stabilize or destabilize the heart.[1]

    Blood Sugar Disorders
Poor sugar control raises the risk of a magnesium deficiency, which in turn further impairs sugar metabolism. How well the body metabolizes sugar is tightly linked to magnesium, making the mineral essential to anyone with diabetes or insulin resistance.[3]

    High Blood Pressure
A person with high blood pressure typically has a lower level of magnesium compared with somebody who has a healthier blood pressure reading. Some hypertension patients reduce or eliminate their need for diuretics and other blood pressure medications by supplementing magnesium and other vitamins and minerals.[4]

    Fibromyalgia
For anyone who copes with muscle or joint pains of this rheumatic ailment, magnesium is a valuable part of an effective treatment.[1]

    Asthma
By diminishing wheezing and encouraging bronchial muscles to relax, magnesium reinforces better breathing for bronchitis, emphysema, and other chronic lung disorders.[1]

    Osteoporosis
For preventing and perhaps reversing osteoporosis, magnesium might be more important than calcium. It balances the body?s calcium supply and keeps it from being depleted.[1]

This is the first time I have taken a liquid calcium supplement instead of a tablet. I definitely prefer the liquid. The flavor is quite good.

I can highly recommend Cal Mag Liquid (Spearmint) for the calming and elimination of severe leg cramps. When quinine products were taken off the shelves in the United States, my leg cramps returned in full force. I would wake up 2 or 3 times a night with leg cramps and other muscle cramps. I decided to try your Cal Mag Liquid and the muscle cramps have totally disappeared. Also, the spearmint flavor is very pleasant. I am glad I bought the large bottle since my husband has also enjoyed taking this product.

I'm very happy to have found Calcium/Mag in a liquid form! The taste is good... nice and minty, and despite what you might expect, it's not chalky at all. Note that it does need to stay refrigerated upon opening.
