In a base of lactose similar to breast milk for maximum assimilation. The lactose base is derived from cow's milk. The lactose base is an important energy source for breast and bottle fed babies derived from milk but free of casein.
Recommended Dosage Add one level scoop daily in the feeding, or dip your baby finger into scoop and give to infant to suckle on throughout the day. Infants: Can be mixed into food or bottle 2-3 times daily. Dose is apx what can stick to tip of your finger (apx 33mg or 1 billion viable cells). If breast feeding, try wetting your nipple and putting some powder on the tip before nursing. Or, use a tiny plastic spoon (i.e. those found in the ice cream/gelato store when you are doing a flavor tasting). This tiny spoon fits perfectly into the Neonate bottle and then into their tiny mouth, and its easily smeared onto their tongue. You can then follow it with a little breast milk, formula, or let them move it around their mouth with saliva. They may not even notice they have anything in their mouth.
Is this product safe for Infants age 0-12 months? YES. Although the product label now indicates that it is for children age 1- 4, it is actually formulated for infants 0-12 months. This is due to regulations by Health Canada (where the product is made and sold) which does not allow age range below 12 months to be listed on supplements (even if proven safe).

The formulation of the HMF probiotics has not changed, just the manufacturers guarantee has changed on the label of the HMF Probiotics. It has been recently communicated to us by Seroyal/Genestra that Barley gluten, lactose and soy are used in the fermentation medium for growing the micro-organisms prior to manufacturing the final formulation. These nutrients are digested by the micro-organisms during fermentation and further removed during centrifugation (after fermentation).
We have tested the HMF probiotics as worst-case scenarios based on total daily consumption and target populations and no gluten, dairy or soy was detected in the final product. Although our analytical assay for soy, gluten & dairy did not detect any proteins, these methods cannot detect total absence.

I gave this probiotic to my 6-mo old (as recommended by my naturopath) after a short course of antibiotics, and it helped to clear up his diarrhea in a few days, after which I used it for 2 months as "maintenance." I still use it intermittently for general immune system health (esp when everyone else around us seems to have colds). I like that it's essentially just more of the healthy bacteria that he already gets via breast milk. It's an excellent product.

At 6wk old, my daughter was diagnosed with reflux. She was prescribed Prevacid and took it for several months. I hated having to give her medication at such a young age. I was recommended probiotics for reflux. After looking around, these probiotics had the best reviews so we gave it a try. After only a few days she no longer needed her Prevacid! It's been a couple months now and she's doing wonderful! No more medication! Highly recommend!

My daughter ended up with a pretty bad case of Eczema at 3 months old which was barely controlled by prescription cream and Cetaphil Cream twice a day. She felt like fine sandpaper all over her little body! I got the Natogen on the recommendation of our Pediatrician for the Eczema and within a week she was off the prescription cream all together and down to one application of Cetaphil a day. She also has food sensitivities which cause her to be on Prescription formula and her stool was always curd like. Again, within just a few days she had regular looking stool. My son has been on a probiotic since he was 3 months old and he always gets the mildest case of whatever illness is going around, if he gets it at all. So, I know that it does work to keep the system in order it never occurred to me that the Eczema was something that could be addressed from the inside out.
Natogen is amazing the way it cured (yes, I said it) her Eczema! We had used steriod oil twice a day just to get her skin under control then the prescription cream and if we missed an application by three hours she would start to break out again. The Natogen allowed us to stop using these products and she has soft baby skin again. She has been on it for 3 months now and has had no recurrance of the Eczema since starting it. The Pediatric Dermatologist was floored at how wonderful her skin looked after just a few weeks since our last appointment and immediately started researching Natogen. She couldn't get over the difference from our previous appointment and that she wasn't using the oil or cream.

My kids have been taking this product for the past six months and have been in excellent health during this time. It also doesn't taste bad, so I have no problems getting them to eat it alone or with other foods/drinks. Sometimes the serving spoon that comes with the product is hard to maneuver since it's so small and the handle is rather short. Overall, however, the product seems effective and I will continue to buy it.

I've been using this product on my infant for several weeks now. I believe it has kept a case of thrush at bay. I've increased his dosage and he seems to be rapidly clearing yeast from his system and there is improvement in his abdominal discomfort and gas.

A good product - would prefer larger bottle neck in order for Daddy's larger finger to access for dosing our 4 mo. dtr. Does decrease spitting up somewhat but maturity should help that even more. Good for the immune system - have been cold-free for a month after having 3 colds in less than 2 mos.
